Quick Treatment Of a Headache:

Do your headaches make you feel like your head is about to explode? Women suffer headaches more frequently than men, perhaps because of variations in the brain chemical called serotonin. 

Reasons for Headache:

Stress

Eye strain

Food allergies

Hormone imbalance

Heredity

Vitamins or mineral imbalance

Illness such as sinus infection, colds, fever or throat infection etc.

Environmental causes such as second-hand tobacco, smoke.

These are simple home remedies to ease the pain without a trip to the doctor or drug store.

Massage your neck and temples: Rubbing your neck and temples can improve blood flow, thus help to relieve a headache.

Close your eyes and do rest and relax. It will help to relax your mind and body. You can also place a washed cloth dipped in cold or hot water over your head for 5 minutes.

Breath deeply: By this, you will get plenty of fresh oxygen which will circulate in your blood.

Try to step away from stress.

Regular meals are compulsory. Do not skip any meal.

 

Always stay hydrated. Tension headaches are often a common side effect of dehydration. If you notice the start of a headache coming on, think back on your recent water intake

Along with water, .you can have sports drinks. The electrolytes present in sports drinks can treat headaches caused by tension and dehydration.

Drinking warm water mixed with juice squeezed from the half lemon will reduce the intensity of a headache.

Do exercise daily. A simple exercise to stretch your head and neck can help reduce the intensity of a headache. More your chin upwards and downwards left and right and bend your neck sideways towards each shoulder.

You can also try to slowly rotate the neck in clockwise and anticlockwise directions to help the shoulder and neck muscles relax. Overall any kind of moderate exercise will boost your brain feel good endorphin levels, which act as natural painkillers in the body.

The long walk also helps improve mood, balance hormones, reduce inflammation and relax the body and mind. 

Do yoga. It will help to increase blood flow by relaxing the neck, shoulders, and spine.  

Spend a few minutes relaxing on a flat surface, like the floor or your bed, can help stop your headache from progressing.

Just soaking your feet in hot water also helps get rid of a headache.

Avoid alcohol.

Avoid smoking.

Do meditation.

Green tea is possibly the best tea for headaches.

B complex vitamin also gives benefit in a headache.

Acupressure: Apply firm pressure to the tip of your left thumb with your right thumb and index finger. Hold this pressure for five seconds and repeat it 10 times. Repeat the process on your right thumb using your left hand.

Some ayurvedic treatment:

Make a paste of ginger powder and water. Apply it on your forehead for quicker relief. Ginger tea is also very effective.

or 

 Make a paste of cinnamon powder and water. Apply it on the forehead and temples.

Basil leaves: Basil is a strongly scented herb. Chew some fresh basil leaves or inhale the steam after boiling basil in a pot of water. You can drink basil honey tea also.

Food-based remedies:

Eat almonds- Almond contains magnesium which may help relax blood vessels and relieve a headache. Other magnesium-rich foods are bananas, cashews etc.

Eat spinach: Spinach really is a food with high-density nutrients.

Lifestyle changes:

Get plenty of sleep

Limit your exposure to fragrances such as perfumes.

Eat regularly

Do regular health check-ups.
